Change footer information whenever you want

Great news for store owners who want to customize sender details! You can update the footer information that displays in campaign and automation messages. Here's how.

Does the footer really matter? The answer is a resounding yes, and I explain why in this article.

Updating sender details

Log in to your Shopify store, open the tinyAlbert app, and scroll down to the bottom of the page.

  1. Click the account icon. The My account page displays.

  2. Click the Sender details tab.

  3. Click the Edit button. A pop window displays.

If the contact email address for your Shopify store is a Yahoo.com email (or AOL.com), you must use the Sender Details window to change that email address. Click here to learn why tinyAlbert does not accept Yahoo or AOL email as the sender address.

Before saving the update, read my tips about the sender name (see below) and the email address field (click the link to open a new page). They can help keep your messages out of the spam folder!

Sender name tips

The Sender name, sometimes called the Friendly From name, is an important marketing tool. When properly formatted, the sender name introduces your brand inside the customer's inbox.

I suggest using a sender name that's 20-30 characters.

I know that's a tiny bit of digital real estate, but there are good reasons. Some email clients and mobile devices cut off From names. That could harm engagement rates if customers can't figure out the sender's identity. I mean, nobody actually reads the Inbox. We scan. That means short phrases tend to draw the customer's attention because they're easy to understand.

After updating the fields, click the Update sender button. tinyAlbert displays an information popup. Click OK.

If you change the email address, you'll need to verify the new email. Open your email account and look for a confirmation message. Oh, that confirmation link expires one hour after we send the message, so don't dillydally.

What happens next ...

When you update the Sender details, tinyAlbert automatically regenerates all inactive campaigns and automations.

For active campaigns and automations, follow these steps after updating the sender details:

  1. Deactivate the active campaigns or automations.

  2. Click Regenerate.

  3. Activate the same campaigns and automations again.


Checking the results

To confirm the changes, go to a campaign or automation and click Preview. The new sender details should appear at the bottom of the message.

The sender name does not appear in the footer. Instead, that name appears as the sender in messages sent to your audience.
